My key research interests are in the area of mathematics education.  My interests in Ethnomathematics include the intersection of the textile arts with mathematics and technology.  Gender equity and the use of student writing in the area of mathematics are also areas of study.  Here is a list of recent presentations and publications and professional activities.
 
Grant and Consulting Activities
    
Currently working with CCSU and the New Britain School System on the implementation of a new school initiative.  The Global Collegiate Academy opens in Fall 2007
 
2005-2006 worked with two MSP grants through the Connecticut Department of Education:  MidSTEP (Hartford) (participating consultant) and Gearing up for Algebra (New Britain) (collaborator on grant preparation and participating consultant).
 
Teacher Quality Partnership Grant “Integrated Mathematical Applications to Promote Understanding” 2004-2005.  Awarded $76,237 to work with elementary teachers in New Britain, Cromwell, Rocky Hill and Southington by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education.
