Dot Com Guy

In January of 2000 a newspaper article told of a young man who had changed his name to Dot-Com guy.  This young man, with his computer was moving into an empty house and planned to order all of his furniture, food and other needs through the Internet.  He would live alone in the house with no visitors all contacts were to be made via the Internet.  His sponsor, planned to pay him $ 24 the first month. His salary would be doubled each month after that - $ 48 in February, $ 96 in March etc.  This was the incentive for him to remain in the house for one year.

Would you rather make $ 3000 per month for a year or be paid in the same way the Dot-Com guy was paid.? 

1.  Show a graph for each of the payment methods. You can also show a table for each payment method.

2. Show the amount earned at the end of the year for each method of payment.  Show how you determined this.

3.  If this problem was only based on living in the apartment 6 months, which payment method would be better and why?

4.  Draw a graph to represent both functions (for a whole year)  and label the window used with proper domain and range.
