What are the Level placements?

Level 1: This means you have no exemptions and must successfully complete ECM 099 or if you qualify, (math placement ECM 099**) the combination Math 101/099 course.

Level 2: This means you are exempt from ECM 099 and must complete Math 101 with a C- or higher before taking any other mathematics course.

Level 3: This means you are exempt from ECM 099 and Math 101and may take any mathematics course for which these serve as prerequisite. Usually this will be a mathematics or statistics course required by your major or if none are required, a general education mathematics elective.  The most common courses would be Math 125 (Applied Calculus) or Math 119 (Precalculus with Trigonometry, which replaces Math 115 and Math 121 for almost all students)

Level 4: This  means you are exempt from ECM 099, Math 101, Math 115, Math 119 and Math 121. You may take any mathematics course for which these serve as prerequisite, whether it be required by your major or to satisfy the general education requirement.
