Who  needs to take the Math Placement Exam? :

All entering freshman are required to take the Math Placement  Exam unless they already have college credit for an AP calculus course or have their mathematics placement  made through special permission and consultation with the chair of the Department of Mathematics. All  transfer students must take the Math Placement Exam unless they have transfer credit at CCSU for ECM 099,  or Math 101, or Math 115, or Math 119, or Math 121.  In these cases, the student may use the transferred credit  as prerequisite to the next level of mathematics course he/she may want to enroll in.  Any questions you have  about the transfer credit you received, as a Math elective, should be directed to the Department of Mathematical  Sciences.
